Impact Continues to Reduce Your Labor Cost

iels
For years Impact has provided freight handling with a model based on production incentive, meaning you pay only for work performed, not hours worked. We are proud unload freight for many companies across the nation but have recently expanded our services through Impact Engineered Labor Solutions (IELS). We now take our model and apply it to any type of labor need you have in your facility. "Engineering a lower labor cost with higher quality control is what we do for our customers every day", says IELS President Jon Gardner.

IELS provides its customers with its most dependable workers for a fixed cost. This allows customers to experience cost savings of up to 25% of your annual labor cost while exceeding the expectations placed on quality, safety and production. We have launched a new Web site with details outlining this new service here.

Using a cost per unit (CPU) business model, we take any work area in your facility and engineer a fixed cost for the labor and work performed, resulting in a fixed cost for our customers. Imagine eliminating the need to monitor overtime or the frustration of unmotivated workers who are paid regardless of their productivity. These problems and more drain your management team of valuable time. They also waste time that could be better utilized once a company implements our CPU Labor Model. Our model allows you, the customer, to fix your cost, maximize your management's time, and save you 5% - 25% of your annual labor cost.

IELS partners with both the manufacturing and distribution industries. We can provide your company with labor in the following areas of service:

Manufacturing
  • Sub-Assembly Operations
  • Semi-Automated Machine Operation
  • Assembly Line Operations
  • Repair/Re-work Operations
  • Repetitive Manual Work Cells
  • Repair Operations
Distribution
  • Unloading/Receiving
  • Picking/Packing
  • Kitting/Shippers
  • Value Added Services (Pricing, labeling, re-work, etc)
  • Outbound/Shipping

 Impact Hosts Security Council

Guest speaker - Chief of Police, Gary Rikard

Many of us know Memphis as the "shipping hub" of North America. In 2009 alone, more than 2 million trucks passed over the bridge spanning the Mississippi River to I-40 and I-55. Each of these trucks imports and exports valuable products to many of the largest companies we know today. No wonder Memphis is called the "shipping hub". Those trucks also represent more than just product. Simply put, they represent jobs. Memphis is what it is today largely due to the great industry of logistics.

With that said, there are also problems that come with this kind of shipping volume, problems that mainly involve ocean container and trailer theft. To resolve these issues many cities, such as Dade County Florida, have put together a task force to combat theft.  Though Dade County was one of the leaders in this effort, Memphis has also put together its own Cargo Theft Task Force. Memphis' Task Force is made up of several law enforcement agencies, such as the Sheriff's Department, FBI, and several police forces in the tri-state area. In addition to the Cargo Task Force is an organization made of security personnel from the private industry called the Security Council. The Security Council supports the Cargo Task Force with funds and information that helps in the apprehension of cargo thieves.

Impact had the honor of hosting the Mid-South Security Council Luncheon on March 23rd. Over 40 members of law enforcement and private industry personnel attended. There were positive updates from the Task Force about their activities during the previous month, and we also heard from the Chief of Bartlett Police, a suburb of Memphis. He spoke on the issues his department faces in their jurisdiction, but the primary focus was to encourage all agencies and security members to communicate with each other on all container and trailer thefts. It was a true Honor to hold the March council meeting on the Impact Campus. For questions on how to form a security council in your city feel free to contact Impact's Security and Safety Director, Denny Fillinger.

Sincerely,
